Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what we do not do with it. This covers our website, our classes and the parent portal.

Who we are

NextGen Mindz provides live online and in-person classes in chess, coding, Rubik's cube and abacus for children aged 5 to 16. We are based in Santa Cruz, Goa, India.

For anything in this policy, write to nextgenmindz@gmail.com or call +91 84339 95797.

Children's information

Our classes are for children, so most of what we hold is about a child — but the relationship is with their parent or guardian. Accounts are opened in the parent's name and email address, and a child does not create one.

We ask for the least we need to teach: a child's first name and age, and what they want to get better at. We do not ask a child for contact details, we do not use a child's information to advertise to them, and we do not sell it to anyone.

What we collect

Everything below is something you type into a form on this site.

When you ask for a demo class

  • Parent's name, email address and phone number
  • Child's name and age
  • Which subjects you are interested in
  • Anything you write in the message box

When you register for a workshop

  • Parent's name, email address and phone number
  • Child's name, age and any previous experience
  • Your city
  • Which workshop batch you chose, and the price you were quoted

When you use the parent portal

  • Your email address and a password, which is stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read it, and neither can anyone who obtained our database
  • Your child's age, their Lichess username if you choose to give one, and what they would like to improve
  • Your weekly class times
  • Messages between you and your child's coach
  • Class records: attendance, homework set, and your coach's notes on progress

When you apply to teach with us

  • Your name, email address and phone number
  • Your experience, and anything you attach or write

We do not collect card or bank details on this website. Payment is arranged separately and we never ask for card numbers by email, message or phone.

Why we use it

  • To arrange and teach classes, and to tell you when they are
  • To give you a portal login, and to send homework and joining links
  • To let you and your child's coach message each other
  • To answer you when you get in touch
  • To keep our own records of classes taught and paid for
  • To understand which of our pages and adverts bring families to us

We send service emails — your login, a joining link, homework, a class change — because they are part of the class you asked for. We do not add you to a marketing list without asking.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the services that make the classes work:

  • Your child's coach, who sees their name, age, goals, class times, homework and your messages — and nothing about other families
  • MongoDB Atlas, where our data is stored
  • Vercel, which hosts this website
  • Hostinger, which sends our email
  • Google, for class video links and calendar invitations

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect a child.

Analytics and advertising

This site uses Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta pixel to measure which pages and adverts lead to enquiries. These record things like the pages you visit and whether you completed a form.

When somebody registers for a workshop, we tell Google and Meta that a registration happened, and its value. We do not send them your name, your email address, your phone number or anything about your child.

You can stop these entirely with your browser's tracking protection or any ad blocker. Nothing on this site stops working if you do — registration, sign-in and messaging all work without them.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become classes are kept while they are still worth following up. Records of a family we have taught — classes, homework, payments — are kept while you are with us and for a reasonable period afterwards, because they are our record of work done and money taken.

Ask us to delete your family's information and we will, apart from anything we are required to keep for tax or accounting.

Your choices

  • See what we hold about you and your child
  • Correct anything that is wrong — most of it you can edit yourself in the portal
  • Ask us to delete your account and your family's information
  • Ask us to stop emailing you anything that is not about a class you have booked

Email nextgenmindz@gmail.com and we will answer within a few working days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Keeping it safe

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never as text. The site is served over HTTPS. Access to family information is limited to the coach teaching that child and the small team who run the classes.

No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you and say what we are doing about it.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by email.
